Known early in her career as "Betty Fruge", she had 3 different TV Shows in the first decade of Houston television. Chosen to represent Houston and to ride on the Shamrock Hilton Float in the Rose Bowl. Worked with Bob Hope on two television specials. In 1961, Betty Bowman won both the USA and North American Women's Fast Draw Championships and appeared on the national TV show "To Tell The Truth" in 1962 as the featured subject showcasing her incredible life... Yet, given all those remarkable accomplishments, she always listed her greatest joy in her life was watching all 3 of her children get their college degrees and see their success....
